TEEKO
Teeko is the first really new all-skill board game since the invention of Checkers 8,000 years ago. One of the greatest gratifications of my life was the invention and perfection of Teeko, a game I labored 27 years to perfect. I firmly believe that Teeko will some day replace Checkers as the number one all-skill board game throughout the world. My three main reasons follow: (1) For sheer fun and enjoyment, Teeko leaves Checkers far behind because it can be played in 21 different ways (Standard Teeko is just one of these ways), each of which has 16 different methods for starting a game. checkers, on the other hand, can only be played in one way. (2) Teeko was the first all-skill board game invented with a point scoring system, a fearture that, in turne, leads to many different ways of scoring a game or match. In addition, this point scoring feature permits Teeko to be played by two, three, or four persons at the same time. checkers lacks this feature. (3) Memory plays a smaller role in Teeko ability than in Checkers, simply because the opening, middle, and end game in Teeko have a far greater range than in Checkers.
Due to space limitation, only the playing rules for Standard Teeko (one of 21 different Teeko games) are listed in these pages. If you wish to study the complete strategy of winning play for Standard Teeko, it is suggested that you read Scarne on Teeko, a 137 page book devoted exclusively to the game of Teeko. This book also contains the official rules of play and the poker strategies of winning play for 21 Teeko variants.
